Propelled by such energy, Omega almost doesn't notice when his mate starts to lag behind; he would swear if asked that he could run straight to the top of those mountains, and a lunatic urge grips him to snatch her hand and just take her with him. But he hits the brakes when it's clear she isn't going any farther, grinning at her delight and the sight of his beautiful mate rolling around in the grass.

He flops down next to her, the two of them sending up a burst of scents from the earth, strong and so different from their mountain back home. The mountains and the trees are still there, way off and beckoning, but glittering blue eyes are captivated by the female hybrid laughing happily in streaks of sunlight.
