Blue wanted to see everything. Touch everything. Run her hands over the rough textures of weathered boards, breathe the grasses waving beneath that wide open sky. She managed the first, pausing just inside the barn, one hand on the roughened wooden door. It was dim within, and smelled of bovine and sawdust; she bit back a sneeze.
Hmmm...
She turned eyes to her mate, standing beside her looking unimpressed. She had to stifle a smirk. "Where should we sleep? There's a hayloft up there, might be warmer than anywhere else." She sniffed again. "It does smell a lot like cow in here, though." Which wasn't exactly the best thing to wake up to in the middle of the night when one was hungry.
