She was simply too exhausted to cry anymore. The hurt in her heart was immense, along with the absolute unfairness of everything. Hoskins was dead, and still he haunted them, haunted them with his ghostly presence, reaching out even from the grave to remind them that they were just animals.
Blue felt Omega's rage, thrumming so hotly beneath his taut skin; she felt him trembling every so slightly against her. She knew if she released her grip, he'd very likely explode into a murderous rage, unable to stifle such vibrating fury. She placed a hand to his cheek, the other tightening fingers around his, endeavoring to keep him together.
"...m'sorry," she murmured against his lips. "But I needed to tell you...why, I guess." And she needed to redirect him--Blue knew she was the only one who could. So she stroked his cheek, slipping fingers into his hair, and took a deep breath, trying a tentative little smile.
"C'mon." Her lips touched his, the softest kiss. "Let's go take a shower."
